The human race. How great we are. We can make a thousand tons of steel as light a feather, we can communicate with anyone, anywhere in the world by the touch of a button, we've put a man in space, a man on the moon and watched him tee-off.
But we can't get buses to work in the snow.
WE SUCK.

Actually, we probably could get buses to run in the snow (possibly through the use of caterpillar tracks, or heated streets, or jet propulsion, or maybe just extra grit) but seeing as we only get decent snow in this country once every 5 years oir so it wouldn't be cost effective to have these things in case of severe weather. Cities like Boston and Vancouver that get this sort of weather more regularly are prepared for it because they have to be.
So I guess what I'm saying is... yes, it's kinda pathetic that London ground to a halt because of some snow, but you'd moan if the council used your taxes to purchase a fleet of snow plows that only got used twice a decade... so stop moaning and go build a snowman!
Also... a thousand tons of steel will always weigh a thousand tons. The only way it will be as light as a feather is if the feather weighs a thousand tonnes.
